The insurrectionists who attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6th were
organized and ready to do harm — fueled by Donald Trump's incendiary lies
about the election.

We can’t just move on from the deadly and destructive attack on the
Capitol — that’s why I voted for a Commission to fully investigate the
attack. But the vast majority of Republicans in the U.S. House voted
against that Commission this week. They don’t want the public to know all
of the details of the attack and they want to protect their own party
members who fueled the attack — including Trump, Ted Cruz, and Josh
Hawley.

January 6, investigate the GOP’s involvement, and hold everyone involved

Our democracy was on the line on January 6. Trump, Hawley, Cruz, and other
Republican lawmakers used their large platforms to incite people with
falsehoods and propaganda.

If we don’t investigate what happened and hold people accountable for
their actions, the deadly events of January 6 can happen again. Especially
as the GOP grows more extreme and emboldened to flout the rule of law. I
need you with me on this.
