John -- Here are just a few of the bills that have passed in the House and are now collecting dust on Sen. Chuck Schumer’s desk:
-
The Raise the Wage Act of 2021 (H.R. 603) which would gradually increase the federal minimum wage to $15 over five years
-
The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021 which would be a START in extending civil rights and police accountability
-
The PRO Act of 2021 (H.R. 842) which would bring labor laws into the 21st Century and enhance workers’ ability to organize
Passing these bills would be game changing for MILLIONS of Americans, but the current gridlock is crippling. It has to stop!
That is why Brand New Congress is determined to elect our first Senate candidate -- we can’t wait on the existing incumbent senators to make calculated decisions based on political expediency. We need to elect people who will meet the urgency of the moment and fight for us! Will you contribute any amount today to help secure our first Senate victory in 2022?
John, as we speak, parents are working two and three jobs just to pay the rent, Black lives continue to be threatened in the name of “public safety,” and McDonald’s workers are standing on the picket line demanding better wages and fairer treatment.
We don’t have time to wait on Senate Republicans and corporate-backed Democrats to do the right thing -- they’ve shown us who they are and who they answer to, and it’s NOT the American people. That has to change!
Help us break gridlock in the Senate by electing fierce progressives who will work for everyday Americans with a contribution today.
2022 will be the year we elect our first (or first few) Brand New senators!
Let’s get to work,
Adrienne Bell
Executive Director
Brand New Congress
Since 2016 BNC has led the way in advancing popular policies like Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and Abolishing ICE. In 2018 we recruited and elected AOC. In 2020, we elected Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman.
We are building yet another strong slate of progressives for 2022. Pitch in today and join us as we take over Congress and return power to the people.
