Friend,
The deadline to submit applications for AU’s 2021-2022 Youth Organizing Fellowship has been extended to Sunday, June 20th!
This is a unique, paid opportunity for young people to grow as leaders, build power with a national cohort of youth organizers, and advocate for religious freedom and the separation of church and state.
Anyone living in the U.S., including its territories, ages 18-25 is invited to apply, so please share this opportunity with anyone in your life who is interested in activism and religious freedom. Many of our strongest candidates apply after a colleague or mentor suggests it.
AU will select ten Fellows from different backgrounds, with experience on a variety of issues that intersect with separation of religion and government, and have shared values of religious freedom and equality.
Please click here to read more about this exciting program and learn how anyone aged 18-25 can apply today to become an AU Youth Organizing Fellow.
With AU’s support, the Fellows will:
- Plan events and campaigns to mobilize young people in their communities on church-state separation issues.
- Serve as an ambassador for AU and church-state separation.
- Help advance local, state, and federal policies to protect religious freedom for all.
The Fellowship kicks off with a virtual convening in September 2021 and continues over the course of a year. The extended deadline to apply is 11:59PM ET on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

If you know any young people with an interest in defending the separation of church and state, please forward them this email or direct them to http://au.org/youthfellows, where you can also read about the Fellows who made up our 2020-2021 class.
Americans United is able to provide these opportunities to our movement’s next generation of leaders because of generous supporters like you, friend.
Thank you for all you do.
Forward Together,
Alicia Johnson
