We can’t trust him to vote in the best interests of our democracy.

So much for bipartisanship, John.

Before the House voted on the January 6th Commission last night, the Republican member who helped write the bipartisan bill to form it literally begged his colleagues to stand up for our democracy and support the Commission, no matter their party.

“I urge all of you in this body, all of you on both sides, not just my side or not just your side, all of us, to set aside politics, just this once. Just this once, I beg you, and pass this bill.”
- Rep. John Katko (R-NY)

Well, that didn’t seem to get through to Mike Garcia. Despite promising to support the Commission, when push came to shove he voted against it. Mike put his allegiance to Trump above his country. Although Republicans got almost everything they wanted in the legislation, Mike -- along with 174 other GOP members -- voted against this bipartisan effort to investigate the insurrection on January 6th.

An insurrection that saw an angry mob shouting that they wanted to hang the Republican vice president. An insurrection that put members of the U.S. Congress in danger. An insurrection that left Capitol police officers dead and countless others physically and emotionally scarred.

Every time he’s had an opportunity to put country over party and do the right thing, Mike has refused to protect our democracy. He voted to overturn electoral college results -- even after an angry mob stormed the Capitol. He voted to keep Donald Trump in office, despite his incitement of that mob. And now, he’s doing his best to keep Trump happy and sweep January 6th under the rug for good.

John, Mike Garcia doesn’t deserve the office he holds. He’s failed his district, his country, and the oath he swore to defend the Constitution. He has to go.
