Last night, the House of Representatives passed bipartisan legislation to establish a January 6 Commission to fully investigate the violent insurrection on the U.S. Capitol.

January 6th 2021 is a day that will live in infamy. A violent mob, incited by a sitting president, stormed the citadel of our democracy to try to overturn the results of a free and fair election.

We must know the whole truth about what happened that day. This is not about partisan politics. This is about the protection of our democracy.

But Mitch McConnell disagrees. He has said that he will oppose this bipartisan investigation.

We cannot let Trump and his allies block our ability to know the truth about this attack; the individuals involved, their allies and their fellow conspirators.

We must pass this legislation to create a bipartisan January 6 Commission and find out exactly what happened the day a mob tried to overthrow our government. Please add your name next to mine if you agree >> [[link removed]]

Our democracy is more fragile than we thought and the work of protecting it from those who seek to dismantle it must be a priority.

Onwards,

Chris
