What I wish I would've known when I first got started was that I could experience a lot of trauma within the movement. Dealing with different organizations that were re-exploiting me, I had no idea that any of that would happen because I thought that they were there to help." -- Savannah Sanders

We heard this story while we were collaborating on The 6 C's of Becoming an Advocate toolkit. And unfortunately, it is not an anomaly. Many survivors have gone through similar experiences when entering the movement. We all know how powerful it is to hear a survivor's story. It can be the deciding factor on receiving funding for service programs or enacting new legislation. However, survivors should be in charge of when and how they share their stories.

SUPPORT SURVIVORS TODAY
And that's part of the work we do with the Sheila Neville Fund. We provide survivors with professional development trainings so they know all the ways they can contribute and how to advocate for themselves. Our Survivor Leadership Program supports survivors so they can make the impact they want in the anti-trafficking field.

Donate to the Sheila Neville Fund today. Your gift will be used to directly support survivors by providing trainings and resources to survivors working as advocates in the movement. The movement is strongest when human trafficking survivors have a seat at the leadership table. Make sure survivor voices are heard and that #EverySurvivorCounts.
