May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and we’re celebrating the heritage and accomplishments of AAPI communities all month long!

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have shaped our state and enriched our nation’s history for the better — and now, they’re leading the way in building a better future for us all. Here at the WSDC, we’re honoring and celebrating our AAPI Senators — Senators Mona Das, Manka Dhingra, Bob Hasegawa, Steve Hobbs, and Joe Nguyen.

So today — and every day — let’s celebrate AAPI heritage and recognize all that the AAPI community has accomplished.

But we know there is so much more work to be done to ensure justice and equality for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Hate crimes against Asian Americans have risen dramatically over the past year and we’re recommitting ourselves to ending this violence against our friends and neighbors. We must honor AAPI history with action.
