And just now, in another unprecedented move, we learned that Senator Bernie Sanders is introducing a Senate companion to this bill. Like its companion in the House, this resolution is the first one ever introduced in the Senate to block weapons to Israel and is a landmark step toward accountability for Israel’s war crimes against Palestinians. This didn’t happen in a vacuum: our collective efforts and massive pressure on Congress have gotten us to this crucial point. Yesterday, you made thousands of phone calls to Capitol Hill and look what happened as a result. Many Representatives have become original cosponsors of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s resolution and now we have a Senate version, too! We must keep up the momentum.
