Across the country, states with Republican governors are cutting the life-saving unemployment benefits introduced during the pandemic — and we’re worried that Maryland could be next.

This pandemic has been devastating the economy, and providing families a little extra income has been game-changing. But before most families have even had a chance to recover, Republican governors are stripping away the assistance they need.

If we don’t speak up, Larry Hogan could be the next Republican governor to take this step, and in turn, further slow the pandemic recovery process in Maryland.
