Dear John,

As our Bay Area communities face a multitude of challenges -- housing, racial inequities, COVID-19 and public health, the economy, school reopenings -- it is time to advocate for solutions that recognize that these issues are deeply connected, and that housing is at the foundation.

One critical solution and opportunity for our region is the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA), created in 2019 by AB 1487 (Chiu) to provide the Bay Area with the regional housing infrastructure needed to advance housing and racial justice across the Bay Area.

Affordable Housing Month

May is Affordable Housing Month, which means that NPH is joining Bay Area activists, partners, allies, and neighbors in collective and unified support for housing and racial justice in our region, highlighting critical affordable housing solutions so that all our neighbors, no matter their race or income, can remain and prosper in the Bay Area. Learn more and get involved.

Join us for a special webinar on BAHFA, where we’ll explore the proposed pilot programs, how we scale, and the Authority’s ability to support local housing strategies while opening the door to new funding opportunities from state, federal, and private philanthropic sources.
