Can I tell you a story?

When I was growing up, it was an American article of faith that if you worked hard, you could get ahead and build a better future.

This rang true for my mom and grandparents. You see, my family were Polish Jews. When Nazis invaded, they separated my mom from her family. She thought her parents were dead, only to reunite with them both after the war. They had survived the Holocaust, losing everything except each other.

To my family and thousands of others, America was a beacon of opportunity — a place to rebuild their shattered lives, to live in peace and freedom, and to provide the next generation more chances than they ever had.

My mom enrolled herself in public school. My grandparents started a small business to recover some of what they had lost. In being able to do that they gave me every opportunity America could offer.

I inherited a belief that it is our job as Americans to extend opportunity. But decades of inaction, partisan gridlock, dark money, and greed have left us a broken system. My generation is the first one at risk of handing our children less opportunity — not more.

I’m running for re-election — for the first time in a Democratic majority — to ensure that after four decades of economic immobility and the worst pandemic in a century, we reinvest in our children and America’s future.

It’s a long to-do list. But it’s the only way we can leave our children and grandchildren a better world than the one we found.

Now, I’m asking you to join our fight and help us win re-election. Will you make a donation of any amount meaningful to you to help us overcome the attacks and protect our Democratic majority so we can continue making progress for all?

Thanks so much for being a part of this team. I’m the only Senator up for re-election refusing to accept corporate PAC and federal lobbyist money, so I’m depending on your support today to fuel our movement.
