John,
Last week, McDonald’s announced that workers at corporate-owned locations
would be getting a gradual pay raise, eventually earning $15 an hour by
2024.
If you look at the headlines, you'd think McDonald’s has finally started
to begin the process of paying their workers a decent wage.

As you start to look behind the curtain and learn the details you notice
that this raise doesn't go into full effect for three years and it only
applies to less than 5% of McDonald's locations.
That’s right, workers at 95% of McDonald’s locations, those that work at
franchised-owned stores, will not get a pay increase at all.
This is absolutely outrageous and it is why McDonald’s workers across the
country are going on strike today.
[ [link removed] ][IMG]It’s why Bernie Sanders, AOC, and DFA are standing in solidarity
with them. Because the more pressure McDonald's feels from workers,
elected leaders AND the general public, the more likely they buckle and
the workers win.

DFA members nationwide are standing with workers fighting to bring an end
to corporate exploitation.
Corporations like McDonald’s shouldn’t be able to avoid paying a living
wage to workers at 95% of their locations.
A livable wage shouldn’t depend on whether you work at a corporate-owned
or franchised-owned location, it should be a right for all workers.
McDonald's is a multi BILLION dollar company that can afford to pay all
their employees a living wage TODAY – not in 3 years -- and it shouldn't
matter what kind of store they work in. If they work for McDonald's, they
should make $15 dollars an hour. Period.
Our CEO, Yvette Simpson, perfectly laid out the need for a higher minimum
wage on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos. [ [link removed] ]Watch the clip then
add your name now to stand with McDonald’s workers striking for a living
wage.

Fast food workers have continued to work for poverty wages despite a
deadly global pandemic, they deserve to be treated with dignity and
respect. They deserve a living wage of $15 an hour now.
Thank you for making your voice heard.
In solidarity,
