Is this the most craven of all the Trump sycophants in Congress?

• He is the top Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives.

• He has been one of Trump’s most dependable apologists and enablers.

• He shamelessly perpetuates the Big Lie that Donald Trump won the 2020 election.

• He led the 147 congressional Republicans who voted to overturn the election and install Trump in office via what would have been a straight-up coup d’etat.

• He voted against impeaching Trump. Both times.

• And he just denounced a bipartisan push for an independent commission to investigate the January 6 insurrection.

I’m talking about Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

Of course, a January 6 commission could very well determine that McCarthy himself bears a sizable portion of the blame for the insurrection, the Big Lie that gave rise to it, and its ongoing aftermath.

Maybe that’s why he is suddenly opposed to the commission after tacitly (at least) approving it by permitting members of his party to negotiate with Democrats on its creation?

Tell Kevin McCarthy:

By rejecting the formation of a bipartisan commission on the January 6 insurrection, you have once again demonstrated that your ONLY concern is retaining power so that the Republican Party can continue marching our country toward outright authoritarianism and plutocracy. Your name is now gouged into the history books as a political coward.
