The Congress Members who promote the Big Lie do not deserve financial support.

Color Of Change PAC

John,

We’re working hard to monitor and hold accountable the dozens of corporations who bankrolled the Republican Congress members who incited the insurrection. Will you join us?

Five months ago, our country experienced a violent coup attempt perpetuated by right-wing seditionists and incited by numerous Republican lawmakers promoting the Big Lie: a series of baseless claims that Trump and his allies made stating that the election was stolen and needed to be taken back by Republicans. Republican Congress members, like Senator Josh Hawley and Senator Ted Cruz, proponents of the Big Lie, encouraged white nationalists and far-right militias to take matters into their own hands.1 These same Republican lawmakers—public officials who took an oath to protect the people of this country— refused to certify the election results, and fueled and amplified misinformation about the election in an effort to nullify Black votes. From Atlanta to Philadelphia, every place that the GOP challenged election results had overwhelmingly Black populations.2

The Congress Members who promote the Big Lie do not deserve financial support; help us hold insurrectionist Congress Members accountable.

These Republican Senators did not act alone. They were backed by countless corporations like AT&T, Amazon, and Microsoft, many of whom we reached out to demand they stop funding insurrectionist members of Congress.3 And so many companies, like Coca-Cola, Walmart, Disney, Bank of America, Deloitte, and so many others, paused their political funding in some way because of your support, John.4

Although corporations have taken this crucial step, they are not heroes. Toyota, JetBlue, Cigna, Google, Intel, and AT&T broke their promises less than two months later.5,6 It is not enough for these companies to just temporarily pause political giving; they must commit to creating the policies and enforcement mechanisms necessary to disempower insurrectionists, Members of Congress included. As long as those lawmakers who took part in the insurrection remain in power and receive corporate support, our democracy will be at risk.

We must hold corporations accountable to ensure they stop funding insurrectionists in Congress. Democracy should not depend on corporate promises. We must continue to hold these corporations accountable, and protect Black voters, Black communities, and other communities of color, who are disproportionately impacted by this Big Lie, from further harm.

That’s why we built a website, Insurrection Incorporated, to monitor the dozens of corporations who bankrolled the Republican Congress members who incited the insurrection. You can use our Insurrection Incorporated tracker to:

MEET THE CORPORATIONS FUNDING CONGRESS MEMBERS BEHIND THE CAPITOL ATTACK

TAKE ACTION TO HOLD CORPORATIONS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR MISDEEDS

HELP SUSTAIN OUR FIGHT TO HOLD INSURRECTIONISTS, AND THE COMPANIES WHO EMPOWER THEM, ACCOUNTABLE

Until justice is real,
Jade Magnus Ogunnaike, Color of Change PAC
