We are searching for a Director of Policy and Advocacy!
 

The Director of Policy and Advocacy provides co-leadership and oversight of Cultural Survival’s policy and advocacy strategies. Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director to build, enhance and provide leadership to the vision of Cultural Survival’s policy and advocacy strategy, and works collaboratively with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Communications, Deputy Executive Director, Board of Directors, advocacy staff and consultants. They support the Executive Director to seek and secure funding support for the Advocacy Program from individual donors, national and international foundations, corporate, governmental, and quasi-governmental agencies.

They are a key spokesperson for the organization and successfully engage diverse internal and external constituencies. The Director of Policy and Advocacy serves as the chief advisor to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors by elevating and advocating for all matters related to policy and advocacy that impact Indigenous Peoples globally. The Director of Policy and Advocacy designs and manages all aspects of program operations, including working with other CS programs to cross-pollinate policy and advocacy across the organization, including working towards the goal of ensuring the full implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, globally.  As the leader of the Advocacy Team, they will coordinate and be responsible for advocacy efforts for the organization and work directly with other CS staff members to carry out this work.  Learn more.

El(la) Director(a) de Políticas y Defensa proporciona liderazgo conjunto y supervisión de las estrategias de promoción y políticas de Cultural Survival. Informa en asociación con la Directora Ejecutiva para construir y mejorar la visión de la política y estrategia de promoción de Cultural Survival, proporciona liderazgo para nuestra política y trabajo de promoción, trabajando en colaboración con la Directora de Alianzas Estratégicas y Comunicación, el Director Ejecutivo Adjunto, la Junta Directiva, el personal de defensa y consultores. Apoya a la Directora Ejecutiva a buscar y asegurar el apoyo financiero para el Programa de Incidencia de donantes individuales, fundaciones nacionales e internacionales, agencias corporativas, gubernamentales y semi gubernamentales. Es portavoz clave de la organización y logra involucrar con éxito a diversos grupos internos y externos.

El-la Director-a de Políticas y Defensa actúa como asesor-a principal de la Directora Ejecutiva y la Junta Directiva al elevar y promover todos los asuntos relacionados con las políticas y la promoción que impacta a los Pueblos Indígenas a nivel mundial. El-la Director-a de Políticas y Defensa diseña y gestiona todos los aspectos de operaciones de programa, incluyendo el trabajo con otros programas de CS para polinizar de forma cruzada las políticas y la promoción en toda la organización y el trabajo hacia el objetivo de garantizar la plena implementación de la Declaración de las Naciones Unidas sobre los Derechos Pueblos Indígenas, a nivel mundial. Como líder del equipo de promoción, coordinarán y serán responsables de los esfuerzos de promoción de la organización y trabajarán directamente con otros miembros del personal de CS para llevar a cabo este trabajo.
