Relatives,
In case you didn’t hear the news : [link removed] last month, the THRIVE agenda has made it to Congress as the THRIVE Act. Now it’s up to us to demand that they go BIG & BOLD on climate, care, jobs, & justice! We deserve a Just Recovery that prioritizes Indian Country. We deserve to THRIVE.
What is THRIVE?
THRIVE stands for Transform, Heal, Renew by Investing in Vibrant Economies. In this moment of overlapping crises, THRIVE offers a road map to a just recovery and regenerative future that prioritizes the strengthening of Indigenous and Tribal sovereignty, Nation-to-Nation relationships, strengthens consultation standards by codifying Free, Prior, Informed Consent (FPIC), recognizes the UN’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and addresses Tribal concerns regarding jurisdictional authority.
What’s next?
We invite you to join our working group as we dig deeper into the THRIVE agenda and strategize our next steps for passing the Act.
