Years ago, when a male legislator told me that I couldn’t make a difference because I was “just a mom in tennis shoes,” I didn’t let that stop me from fighting for my community and going on to serve as the first woman -- and first mom -- representing Washington state in the U.S. Senate.

We’ve made a lot of progress since then, but there is still so much work to be done for women, families, and working folks in Washington state and beyond.

And unfortunately, the fact is we can’t count on the GOP to set partisanship aside and act in the best interests of our people. Not a single Republican voted for the American Rescue Plan that delivered crucial relief to families in this pandemic.

Meanwhile, Democrats like Suzan DelBene and I have joined with the Biden administration to support legislation that will rebuild our economy and get us back to a new normal.

We must defend (and expand!) our razor-thin Democratic majorities in the House and Senate. Suzan and I are both up for re-election next year, so I’m asking personally for you to join us today:
