Today, the House will vote on establishing a commission, like the one after 9/11, to determine what happened at the Capitol on January 6th. Although GOP leadership was going to let members vote with their conscience, yesterday, they announced that they would be whipping votes to try and block the commission.
As the GOP's Assistant Whip, this means Rep. Nicole Malliotakis has spent the last day actively trying to convince Republicans who want to vote "yes" that instead, they should vote to block the commission.
Think about that: Nicole is so dedicated to preserving the Big Lie (which she helped spread) that she spent last night trying to convince Republicans of good conscience to vote AGAINST investigating the carnage and brutality of January 6th.
As a bipartisan group of her constituents, we here at NICPAC may not agree on every issue -- but we are ALL furious and disgusted that our Representative would pressure her colleagues to vote against the truth, democracy, and what they know is right.
