Government plans to increase the UK's nuclear arsenal are in breach of international law. Will you help oppose them?

Expert legal opinion has confirmed what we all suspected: that the Government's decision to increase the UK's stockpile of nuclear warheads is illegal under international law.

Following the announcement of the increase, CND commissioned a Legal Opinion authored by renowned experts Professor Christine Chinkin and Dr Louise Arimatsu. Their findings show a clear breach of Article VI of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

CND is working to oppose and reverse the Government's decision. Building on significant national and international opposition to the arsenal increase, we will be organising widespread reporting of the UK to the UN for breaking international law.
