Dear John

The British government is cutting aid to the world’s poorest, and aid to Burma is in the firing line.

British aid to Burma helps keep people alive. It helps the poorest in the country.

And thanks to successful campaigns by Burma Campaign UK, there are strict rules in place to prevent any aid reaching the military.

Please write to the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development affairs, Rt Hon Dominic Raab MP, telling him not to cut aid to Burma.

The humanitarian situation in Burma was already dire, with hundreds of thousands of people homeless because of attacks and human rights violations by the military, and millions living in poverty.

Since the military coup in February, the situation has got much worse. More than half the population is living in poverty and another 50,000 people have fled their homes because of bombing attacks by the military.

Aid to Burma needs to be increased, but instead it’s going to be cut at a time when the need has never been greater.

Tell British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab not to cut aid to Burma.

Thank you.
