Dear John,
After our record breaking results in the recent elections - including a third place finish for Sian Berry and the election of a third Assembly member Zack Polanski - our attention now turns to what next?
The easiest answer to that question is the local elections in May 2022. With
news of a recent defection in Enfield by a previous Labour councillor now joining the Green Party - it's clear that we can win voters over with our policy platform all over West Central London. We'll be discussing some of our plans for the future and listening to members' views at our next monthly meeting on
Monday 7th June at 7pm. You can sign up
here.
Of course winning elections is the primary purpose of a political party, but it's also lots of work! Cautiously as Covid guidelines ease off, we are proposing a
picnic on Sunday 27th June at 3pm in Hyde Park for our members to get together and socialise with no agenda other than saying hello. Everyone is welcome - no matter how long you've been in the party (with partners and friends welcome too). You can sign up
here.
And finally, if you prefer your socialising on the move - we have a walk planned on
Sat 30th May at 1.30pm starting in Kensington Gardens and finishing near South Bank. You can sign up to that
here.
We're really pleased with our recent wins and acutely aware that to tackle the climate emergency and injustices in our society that it's not yet enough. If you're interested in taking a more active role in the team, then please do email us at any time. We're entirely run by volunteers and always appreciate the help!
Kind regards,
Naranee
