John,
Hope this message finds you well, and that things where you are
make a little more sense than they do in Washington, DC.? Today, we
learned that Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy plans to oppose the
creation of an independent, bipartisan commission to investigate the
January 6th attack on the United States Capitol complex.? This move is
a selfish betrayal of the members, staff, and police who were
traumatized that day -- not to mention everyone else watching at
home.? Our nation deserves a full accounting of what happened so we
can do everything in our power to ensure it never happens
again.
You and I know this wasn't just an attack on a building.? January
6th was an assault on American democracy itself.? Our allegiance to
the country, particularly in the wake of an
insurrection,?must?always supersede our politics,
parties, or presidents.? That's just one reason I've been so outspoken
despite the threats and vitriol coming my way.
All of us deserve the definitive truth, and so does history.? Kevin
already knows how I feel about this, but he
needs to hear it from all of us: "The truth shall set you
free."? And sure, I get that the truth may be uncomfortable for some
people.? But how can we ask the brave men and women in our military to
risk life and limb to defend our constitution, if we aren't willing to
risk a job or a little discomfort to do the same?
It is with that spirit that I appeared on Meet the Press
to speak about the importance of truth and the future of the
Republican Party:
Finally, we released a new episode of our podcast Country First
Conversations featuring former Congressman Denver Riggleman on
the topic of conspiracy theories and disinformation.? This was one of
my favorite episodes to record, so I hope you enjoy listening to it
just as much.? You can find it, and all of our other episodes, here
(just click on the podcast platform of your choice once you get to the
page): www.country1st.com/podcast
That's it for now.? We've got some great projects in the works that
certainly give me more hope for our nation's future, so I'm excited to
share them with you soon.
Country First,
Adam
PS: In case I don't say it enough, "thank you!"? So many of you
reply to these emails with amazing words of encouragement, prayers,
ideas, and feedback.? I just want to let you know that I truly
appreciate the moral and financial support you've given our movement
during this difficult time for our republic.? Your passion for making
our country better really does inspire me to keep going.
