Wolf's Crossing Road reopens after emergency repair

The Village of Oswego announced Tuesday evening that Wolf?s Crossing Road is reopened to traffic.

A portion of the street between Harvey Road and U.S. Route 30 was closed on April 28, after a resident reported concerns about the condition of a culvert just east of Devoe Drive. Public Works crews, after consulting with an engineer and out of an abundance of caution, temporarily closed the road until emergency repairs could be made. Staff and engineers determined that the most cost effective and timely option is to install a series of reinforced concrete pipes in place of a culvert.

That culvert replacement work is now complete, except for some grating covering the angled end sections just south of the roadway. That grating will be installed in about one month, requiring a single lane closure that is expected to last less than one day.

Until then, traffic control drums will remain in place on the shoulder of the roadway. Motorists are advised to drive carefully and observe all traffic control measures in place.

The Village would like to thank residents and motorists for their patience.
