Team, Last week, Republicans voted to remove GOP Rep. Liz Cheney from her House leadership position. Why? Because she refused to buy into Trump’s election fraud lies and casted a YES vote on impeachment earlier this year. Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is actively coordinating with Donald Trump to clean house and rid their party of any members who refuse to pledge blind loyalty to Trump. This alarming commitment to Trumpism, even after his failure to handle the COVID-19 crisis, is a warning sign of what’s to come if we don’t hold the House in 2022. We need elected officials who will put country over party and fight for the future — not the politics of the past. A new Harvard Youth Poll found that Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 feel significantly more optimism now than in the months after Donald Trump became president. So while Republicans make a pathetic attempt to cling to power by aligning themselves with Trump, young Americans are ready to move forward and address the most urgent issues facing our country. If Democrats had not been in the majority at the beginning of the year, who knows what could have happened. But here’s what we do know: Republicans are slipping into dangerous partisanship — and we cannot risk letting them take back control of the House. Will you chip in $5 or more to help Future Forum Democrats defend our House majority? Thank you, Future Forum PAC |
