Republican AGs are joining in on the most dangerous attack on abortion rights that we’ve seen in years. Learn more here >>
Friend, Republican AGs are attacking abortion rights again.
Yesterday, the Supreme Court – packed with ultra-conservative justices – decided to take up a case that directly targets Roe v. Wade. But look at what Republican AGs have already done:
18 Republican AGs sided with anti-abortion activists in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, a case that the Supreme Court just announced they will hear. The case is widely considered as a direct challenge to Planned Parenthood v. Casey and Roe v. Wade.
Democratic AGs are already fighting back against this extreme lawsuit and Republican AGs’ willingness to stand beside it, but we need your help.
The stakes are high: if Republicans succeed at overthrowing Roe v. Wade, millions of people will be stripped of their reproductive rights, endangering low-income and BIPOC individuals especially.
It’s hard to stomach the thought of 48 years of progress being undone overnight, and the timing of Republican AGs’ attack couldn’t be more cruel: As millions of people struggle to stay safe, healthy, and financially afloat through COVID-19, attacking our reproductive rights will only add to the devastation.
But Dem AGs are fully committed to defending every single person’s right to affordable, quality healthcare – and that includes access to safe, legal abortions.
Just last year, as the coronavirus pandemic engulfed our country, Democratic AGs fought alongside activists against Louisiana Republicans’ attempts to restrict access to abortions. And yes, the Supreme Court sided with abortion rights activists and the Dem AGs that filed in their support.
DAGA was the first Democratic party committee to only support candidates who support abortion access, because this fight is far too important to cede ground. And Dem AGs are showing up.
Thanks for taking action,
Democratic Attorneys General Association
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
