Hi John --
Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar is one of the most dangerous Republican members of Congress. He continues to defy expectations by pulling his party to the far-right fringes of the political spectrum. Most recently, CNN reports that during the proceedings to remove Liz Cheney from leadership, Gosar mounted a full-throated defense of the Capitol rioters. He called them "peaceful patriots" and condemned the fact that they are now under investigation by the Department of Justice. He also lamented that some of them are in jail.
It is a shocking sentiment but not wholly unexpected from Gosar. This is the same congressman whose own siblings have labeled him a racist and urged voters not to support him, the same congressman who has held fundraisers with white nationalists, and the first congressman to raise objections to the results of the 2020 election during the certification process.
We cannot let elected officials like Paul Gosar continue to hold power. We need to defeat him and expand Democratic majorities in Congress so that Gosar and his allies never get the chance to pass any of their racist, right-wing ideas into law.
