----------------FORWARDED MESSAGE-------------------- Subj: Reminder! AB286 Roundtable Happening Tonight! From: [email protected] Date: May, 18th, 2021
Hello Friend,
Have you registered for our AB286 Roundtable yet? If not, that is okay! We still have spots available. This virtual event will be tomorrow May 18th, at 5pm. Our speaking lineup includes the bill sponsor, Assemblywoman Sandra Jauregui. She has fought to make sure this bill moves through each stage of the legislative process. Please bring your questions for her!
Also joining us will be Brady volunteer, Stephan Abrams, who was able to purchase a ghost gun at the age of 17. The astonishing video from Brady’s Team Enough was played during the Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on AB286, and he’ll share his story with us Tuesday night as well!
Ghost guns are a growing, dangerous trend that was highlighted during the pandemic. There are no background checks on these firearms and they are untraceable due to their lack of serial numbers. This makes it easy for minors and prohibited people to purchase them and use them in violent crimes.
I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday May 18th at 5pm to discuss ghost guns and AB286. This bill is a crucial part of our gun violence prevention work this legislative session. We appreciate all the support and look forward to seeing you on Zoom.
Best Wishes,
|
