The Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA) Board of Directors is hosting a town hall meeting on Zoom this coming Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 6-7pm CT, 8-9pm ET, 4-5pm PT.
The town hall, moderated by Hatem Bazian, Ph.D., Professor of Islamic Law and Theology at Zaytuna College and founder of the Islamophobia Research and Documentation Project at the Center for Race and Gender, will provide helpful insights and outline the challenges faced by the American-Muslim community when dealing with issues of U.S. national security law and examine the first 100 days of the Biden-Harris administration.
We’ll be talking about challenges faced by the Muslim-American community, including surveillance, entrapment cases, and federal legislation intended to deal with “countering violent extremism” (CVE), with experts including:
