I stand with women which is why I’ve spent my career standing up for a woman’s right to choose.
That’s why the Supreme Court’s decision to hear a case — Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health — that could lead to the overturning of Roe v. Wade is so disheartening.
Undoing the right to choose would be a catastrophic step back for American women and our standing as a just country. Like thousands of others, I feared this day when Trump he nominated Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett. That day is here.

One defining moment of my life was watching in awe as George Michaels, a Democrat from an anti-abortion district, stood up and cast the deciding vote to decriminalize abortion in New York. And just last week, I championed the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act , a bill guaranteeing the safety of pregnant people in the workforce.
Just mere days after my bill passed, the announcement of this real and detrimental threat to women truly highlights the issues within the Republican party and their disregard for the American people.
Reproductive freedom is not just a women’s issue, it’s a human issue, and one that we must all — men and women — fight fiercely to protect.
Stand with me in defense of women’s rights:
