Dear Friend,

Waterkeeper Alliance is rallying support for The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act, monumental legislation that has the potential to stem the tide of toxic plastic pollution.

We surpassed our original goal of 2,000 signatures and are now hoping to get 5,000 constituents to support this bill. Will you join us by adding your name? ([link removed])

The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act would:
* Phase-out certain single-use plastic products;
* Establish a national beverage container refund program;
* Shift responsibility for waste management to manufacturers and producers;
* Prohibit plastic waste from being exported to developing countries that lack the ability to sort, process, and remanufacture the material into new products without polluting their environment; and,
* Place a temporary pause on the development of new plastic production facilities, until the US-EPA meaningfully improves environmental and health regulations on those facilities.

But before it can do any of these things, Friend, it needs to become law. And that’s where you come in. The time is now for Congress to stem the tide of plastic pollution, but they need to hear it from you, their constituents.

Help us meet our 5,000-signature goal — Add your name in support of the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act today → ([link removed])

And thank you, as always, for supporting our work.
