In just two days, the House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing to determine the steps necessary to reduce gun violence and mass shootings – they’re calling it an unending crisis.

This year alone, multiple, high-profile mass shootings have plagued our nation and innumerable senseless shootings claimed more lives but didn’t reach headlines. Lax guns laws and easy access to weapons of war allow Americans to die at the hands of hateful gunmen – sometimes it can seem like there is no end to this epidemic…

But here’s the thing, John: We do have the power to end this crisis. For too long, the gun lobby and Mitch McConnell have stonewalled common-sense legislation – like an assault weapons ban – now, with gun violence prevention champions in power, we have the chance to pass laws that will save lives and finally end this gun violence crisis. But it’s only going to happen with your help:

Will you add your name and demand that Congress pass an assault weapons ban and finally address our gun violence crisis? We still need 287 Brady supporters from  to speak out before the House meets on Thursday.

From Boulder to Las Vegas to Newtown to Parkland, military-style assault weapons have enabled gunmen to murder as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. But right now, we have the best chance in more than a decade to remove these weapons of war from our streets, and we can’t do it without your help:
