On Monday, it was reported that Hamas militants fired rockets from the Gaza Strip towards Jerusalem, marking an escalation in tensions. Throughout the week, it was reported that more than 3,150 rockets have been launched towards Israel. The Israeli military states Iron Dome has had a 90% intercept success rate. However, 10 Israelis have been killed from rocket strikes.

On Saturday, NATO’s exercise “At-Sea-Demo/Formidable Shield” began at the Hebrides range off Scotland and at the Andoya training site off Norway. The biannual exercise is Europe’s largest and most complex, involving 15 ships and dozens of aircraft from the U.K., the U.S., Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, and Spain. This exercise begins three days after NATO marked the ten-year anniversary of the agreement between Romania and the U.S. to establish the Aegis Ashore site in Deveselu.
 
On Friday, it was announced that the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) plans to deorbit the two Space Tracking and Surveillance System satellites. The announcement, made by Vice Admiral Jon Hill, did not provide an exact timeline but stated that the deorbiting will occur in the next few years as MDA works with the Space Development Agency to launch the Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor satellites.
