My friend,

I remember when even liberal Democrats still believed in the importance of a border.

But now, open borders seems to be a universally-accepted position for the Democrats. Look no further than their candidates for president. In recent debates, they all raised their hands in full support of decriminalizing unauthorized border crossings.

My friends, that is a blatant disregard for our nation’s laws. Even Obama-era Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said it was an extreme, reckless, and dangerous proposal.

If we allow open borders, we leave our country vulnerable to increased crime and drugs. Here in Kentucky, we’ll see our opioid crisis explode to historic levels.

I refuse to allow their plans to succeed. I recently went to court to defend the President’s border wall, and I am fighting every day in Congress to secure more resources for the border.
