Good Tuesday morning! It looks like we could be on the cusp of overturning a portion of the devastating Roe v. Wade decision. Let me explain...
On Monday, the Supreme Court announced it would hear an appeal from Mississippi that could allow states to prohibit abortions after 15 weeks. Under Roe, the line was drawn at the "age of viability," which is generally considered 23 weeks.
I want to be clear: I am pro-life and believe every life has dignity and value - even those under the age of 15 weeks. But if Mississippi is successful, this would be a significant step in protecting the most vulnerable among us.
This will be the first Supreme Court case regarding abortion since President Trump's three judicial appointments took the bench, which gives pro-life conservatives a reason to hope. Nonetheless, this decision is far from a done deal. Personally, I am praying for wisdom among the Justices and a life-affirming decision. I ask that you join me in this prayer as well.
I'll work to keep you updated as this case moves forward.
Sincerely,
