For 18 years we've been at war in Afghanistan, friend.

I want to be very clear: there is no military solution in Afghanistan.

This is our nation's longest war and it goes without question that it is past time to bring our troops home. Any effort to have peace in Afghanistan will require diplomacy, not ongoing military action with no end in sight.

I was the lone vote against the 2001 authorization for this war because it gave any president a blank check for endless war. As you know, I am leading the fight in Congress to repeal this outdated and overly broad authorization. Today, I need you to join me:
