Tax Day in May! The IRS filing deadline was postponed to today, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But the lesson from the above chart, courtesy of the War Resisters League, is as powerful as ever: the government spends a grotesque proportion of our collective resources on war — the waging of it, and (some) of its consequences.

Are you anticipating, or have recently received, a refund? Or have you recently received a stimulus payment? Consider putting that money to work for peace by giving to the Green Party to elect candidates who will dismantle this violent War Budget and move those resources into a transformative, Eco-Socialist Green New Deal.

The Parties of War and Wall Street won't do it: they are direct beneficiaries of American Empire. You think Tax Day is brutal? Imagine how brutal it is for the victims of the bombings and occupations made possible by our tax dollars.

Because we refuse corporate contributions we are all the more reliant on contributions from people just like you.
