The FBI just reported that 2019 was the most lethal year for domestic violent extremist attacks since 1995 and it’s still skyrocketing. Nearly all of these attacks are by white supremacists with unfettered access to guns.
Hate and bigotry cannot and should not be armed, friend, because you can't disentangle gun violence from the bigotry that drives it. We know that guns and white supremacy are a deadly mix: Just this year, the Atlanta spa shooter bought a gun and murdered eight people on the same day . In 2018, a white nationalist used an AR-15 assault rifle to kill 11 people at the Tree of Life synagogue. In 2015, a white supremacist killed nine Black parishioners at the Emanuel A.M.E Church.

We must pass common-sense gun safety legislation to expand background checks and ban weapons of war to stop these deadly acts of hate.
