A leaked video shows the executive director of Heritage Action bragging about writing GOP voter suppression bills across the country. They wrote the key provisions in Georgia’s new election law and used it for a model to follow around the country.
The dark money group Heritage Action also wrote 19 provisions in the Texas House bill that would make it a criminal offense for election officials to give a mail ballot request form to a voter who hadn’t explicitly asked for one and would subject poll workers to criminal penalties for removing partisan poll challengers who are accused of voter intimidation. Then they pressured Abbott to sign it as quickly as possible.
