No one has a more difficult job than our nation's law enforcement. They keep
our families and neighbors safe, often risking their lives on a daily basis. We
owe them a debt of gratitude for their service to our cities and communities.
Unfortunately, Democrats would rather play politics than help keep our
communities safe.

Last year, I signed on to Senator Tim Scott’s JUSTICE Act, a reform bill that
had the support of many national and state law enforcement groups. This bill
provided long-term solutions focused on police reform, accountability, and
transparency. But the Democrats used the filibuster to kill the bill so that
they could continue to use the issue to score political points.
They watched our cities burn and did nothing.
Those same Democrats now want to get rid of the filibuster so they can ram
through divisive and partisan legislation with their razor-thin majority. Their
end goal is simple - they want to divert funds away from the police, make our
communities less safe, and demonize those who arerisking their lives to protect
us.
