Friend,

Years ago, when a male legislator told me that I couldn't make a difference because I was "just a mom in tennis shoes," I didn't let that stop me from fighting for my community and going on to serve as the first woman – and first mom – representing Washington state in the U.S. Senate.

We’ve made a lot of progress since then, but there is still so much work to be done.

And unfortunately, we know we can’t count on the GOP. Not a single Republican voted for the American Rescue Plan that delivered crucial support to families in this pandemic.

We must defend (and expand!) our razor-thin Democratic Senate majority. I am one of the Democratic Senators up for reelection in 2022 – so I’m asking you to join me:

I need supporters like you to help me keep this seat, and the Senate, blue. Will you pitch in $5 or any amount now to join me in this fight?

In the Senate, my Democratic colleagues and I have been working hard to support working families, strengthen our economy, stand up for patients’ health care, raise the minimum wage, expand paid leave policies, protect workers’ rights, and more. That’s why the Republican Party is already working overtime to take back the Senate – and undo all of our progress – in 2022.

The race for the Senate majority is on – and we can only win this fight with your support. We can’t let Mitch McConnell’s GOP take back the Senate.

Make a $5 contribution now to help defend this seat – and the majority.

Thank you,

Patty Murray
