This is the first direct challenge to Roe v. Wade the Supreme Court will hear since Justice Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed last year. It could be the challenge to abortion rights that convinces the court to overturn Roe v. Wade or render it meaningless.
If the Supreme Court allows the Mississippi 15-week ban to take effect, access to abortion in many other states is also at risk.
