While Georgia’s recent restrictive voting law dominated headlines, it’s hardly the first -- or last -- of its kind.
In fact, Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight reports that Georgia is one of 11 states that have enacted voter suppression laws this year.
And that’s not all -- at least 404 voting restriction bills have been introduced in 48 states.
I joined the House in passing the For the People Act, which would combat these types of voter suppression, and last week, the Senate took the first steps toward bringing the bill up for a vote.
Do you think the Senate should pass the For the People Act and combat voter suppression across the country?
YES >> [[link removed]] NO >> [[link removed]]
Voter suppression laws of all kinds are sweeping the nation -- restricting everything from absentee voting to ballot drop boxes and even banning people from giving food and water to voters standing in line at their polling places.
The For the People Act would counteract those measures by combating voter suppression and intimidation; make massive expansions to voting rights; and make our elections more transparent, fair, inclusive, and secure.
Our democracy works best when everyone’s voice is heard, and I want to hear yours now. Please take a moment to take our poll and share your opinion on the For the People Act and voting rights >> [[link removed]]
