I just authored and introduced my first bill in Congress!

As always, my priority is advocating for families across IN-01 and that is why my very first piece of legislation introduced in Congress will protect some of our most essential workers. 

I am extremely proud to introduce my first piece of legislation, the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ COVID-19 Compensation Act, in order to protect the health, safety, and livelihoods of our nation’s maritime workers. The current pandemic has created serious challenges for these essential workers, including unpaid, mandatory quarantine requirements resulting from COVID-19 contraction or exposure. 

I ran for Congress in order to advocate on behalf of my constituents. I am proud to have acted aggressively to address an issue of worker rights. Our longshore and harbor employees work hard for our nation and they deserve to work in a safe environment and not be financially injured unfairly and through no fault of their own.

As the next election cycle begins to pick up, we need to stay on track if we’re going to still be here working for IN-01 down the road.
