Free (always free!) trainings that support the Indivisible Movement

Hey Indivisibles,

It’s safe to say these past few months have been historic -- since taking back the White House, Indivisible activists and leaders like you have been hard at work fighting for COVID-19 relief, D.C. statehood, and democracy reform at large.

Rather than our usual Monday newsletter, this week we, the Indivisible Training Team, are taking over to check in with you, let you know about some upcoming training sessions, and make sure you know how to contact us. Our job is to run free (always free!) trainings that support the Indivisible Movement and make sure activists across the country have all the tools you need to make lasting changes.

We’ve already met many of you and have worked together already, making sure everyone has the training and knowledge we need to accomplish our bold advocacy goals this year. For others, this may be the first time you’ve heard about us -- it’s great to meet you!

We’re excited to share with you what we’ve been up to this year so far, what’s coming up in the next few months, and how you can stay in contact with us to get updates on upcoming training events.

So, what have we been up to so far this year?

  • On January 31st over 1,200 Indivisible activists and leaders from across the country attended the We Won, What’s Next? Strategy Session, where we planned together on what should come next for our movement.
  • 750 of us have come together to continue our learning (and unlearning) around race, equity, and inclusion.
  • We also brushed up on how to use our social media for social change, with not one but two social media training series involving over 700 Indivisibles.

And we’re just getting started! Here is what’s coming up over the summer:

Distributed Technology Training Day (this weekend!)

Saturday, May 22 beginning at 3:00 pm Eastern Time / 12:00 pm Pacific Time

We’ll go in-depth on using Indivisible tools, including the specific technology that will assist your on-the-ground organizing, dive into how to create a digital organizing plan, and more. We invite group leaders, members, and activists to take part. This virtual gathering will be a jam-packed half-day training filled with sessions designed for all activists across the network, and we hope you’re able to join!

Building Inclusive Groups

Tuesday, June 8 at 8:00 pm Eastern Time / 5:00 pm Pacific Time

Thursday, June 10 at 3:00 pm Eastern Time / 12:00 pm Pacific Time

The January 6 insurrection was more than an attack on our Capitol and our democracy. It was an opening salvo on increased attacks on Black and Brown people by the Republican Party. Now more than ever, it is critical that Indivisible groups build strong inclusive communities that reflect the mosaic of our country. In this webinar, we’ll be covering what it means to organize from an anti-racist perspective, the impact of white privilege and white supremacy in team dynamics, and how to co-create an inclusive group.

Unpacking Deep Canvassing Training series w/ Indivisible’s Rural Caucus

Every Wednesday in June starting at 8:00 pm Eastern Time / 5:00 pm Pacific Time

Join us for a training series on the listening, curiosity, conversation, and practical skills needed to successfully have deep canvassing conversations to move folks toward progressive values and action in your community. This is a 4-part series of sessions that build on each other -- please join us for all four if you can, but drop-ins are also welcome!

State Legislative Advocacy Series: Advocacy in a Pandemic

Monday, June 7th at 8:00 pm Eastern Time  / 5:00 pm Pacific Time

COVID-19 has impacted our communities in immeasurable ways, and highlighted how important it is for us to continue advocating for legislation that will help our communities. Attend this webinar to learn tactics you can use to keep up the pressure, while staying safe.

Whether you’ve attended all of our training sessions in the past or are just now learning of these opportunities -- we want to hear from you! If you have an idea for a training, fill out this quick form to share it with us! The best way to find out about our upcoming training sessions is to check out the Training Calendar. There you’ll find the links to all of our National Trainings, Calls, and Working Groups -- and lastly, feel free to send us an email at [email protected] to stay connected to us!

In solidarity,
Indivisible Training Team

Indivisible Project is a locally-led, people-powered movement of thousands of local groups in red, blue, and purple states, and in urban, suburban, and rural areas. Our mission is to power and lift up a grassroots movement of local groups to defeat the Trump agenda, elect progressive leaders, and realize bold progressive policies.

Grassroots donations, not foundations or large gifts, are our single largest source of funding. That means we’re accountable to, and fueled by, Indivisibles on the ground. Chip in $7 to keep fueling our movement.
