.png) Call on Your Representative to Speak out for Palestinian Rights Dear Supporter, The situation on the ground is escalating: Israel is murdering Palestinians -- including children -- in Gaza, the West Bank, and ‘48, in cold blood. Even during the sacred holiday of Eid. The carnage is unimaginable. It is heartbreaking. It is appalling -- and it is all happening with our tax dollars, because of the unconscionable blank check given to the Israeli government by our own government. This morning, we woke up to the outrageous news about President Biden approving the sale of $735 million in precision-guided weapons to Israel -- the same weapons that are being used to kill Palestinians in Gaza as you read these words. Contact your Member of Congress now! Let them know we are outraged! Last week, many Members of Congress took to social media to condemn Israel’s crimes, and a few of them delivered historic floor speeches, including Rep. Tlaib and Rep. Carson. Led by Congresswoman Newman, 25 Members of Congress wrote a letter to Secretary Blinken urging the administration to send the strongest possible diplomatic message to Israel against proceeding with the forced displacement and demolition campaign in Jerusalem. It also calls for a public condemnation of Israeli policies and a review ensuring that US aid is not being used to contribute to these abuses. Did your Representative sign that letter? Have they spoken out about Palestinian rights yet? Here are two things you can do to pile on the pressure -- the US government needs to end its unconditional support for Israel’s crimes now. 1 - Send an email to your Member of Congress and call on them to denounce Israel’s crimes and promote Palestinain rights. If they signed the Newman letter, send them a thank-you note. 2 - Tweet at your Member of Congress and urge them to stand up for Palestinian rights. Members of Congress pay attention to their social media, especially when they’re interacting with constituents. AMP was proud to join more than 100 other progressive groups urgently calling on Biden to denounce the forced evictions for what they are: war crimes. While this letter was important because of the sheer number of organizations that signed on in a quick turnaround time, it was also telling that prominent progressive groups like MoveOn, Justice Democrats and the Sunrise Movement all added their names. Palestinian rights is becoming a litmus test for progressive organizations. The tide is turning - email your Members of Congress today and ask them to speak out for Palestinian rights. Sincerely,
