Today is Tax Day, John, and here at Women's March, we've got something important on our minds:
Working women and families across the country have been busy filing our taxes — so why should the top 0.05% in our country be paying any less in taxes than we do?
It's time to tax the ultra-millionaires by passing a Wealth Tax.
Special guest Senator Elizabeth Warren is here to break it all down. Take a look at her message to you below, and then support our fight however you can if you're ready to fight alongside Women's March and Senator Warren to get this done.
— Women's March
John, in just a moment, we're going to ask you to donate $3 or more to support Women's March's work advocating for something our nation desperately needs: A Wealth Tax. Before we ask, we think we owe you an explanation about what exactly a Wealth Tax could do for our country, and what your financial support today will help accomplish.
Who better to explain a Wealth Tax than Senator Elizabeth Warren?
Last week, Senator Warren spoke directly to Women's Marchers like you about what a Wealth Tax would look like in practice, who it'd impact, and all the incredible feminist programs it would help fund.
As Senator Warren noted, a Wealth Tax on the very top 0.05% of households combined with her other tax proposals could fully-fund both President Biden's American Jobs Plan and his American Families Plan — with over $2 trillion dollars left over.
Senator Warren said it best: Our country can do both. We can invest in American families who need it, and pay for it without raising taxes on those same families.
We at Women's March couldn't agree more. It's time for the very wealthiest among us to pay their fair share so that women and working families can finally recover from this crisis, get ahead, and stay ahead. Every single day, we're fighting to build organizing and political power for women across the country so that we can march, mobilize, and advocate for bold, feminist legislation like this Wealth Tax.
But as a grassroots-powered organization, all of that work depends on the support of women and allies just like you, John.
DONATE $3 →Thank you for taking the time to hear from Senator Warren and all of us at Women's March today.
As Senator Warren said, it's an honor to fight alongside you.
Keep fighting,
Women’s March
P.S. Women's March is gearing up to organize, march, and mobilize for important feminist legislation — just like Senator Warren's Wealth Tax. But the strength of our grassroots movement depends on you, John, and we can't slow down just because Trump is no longer in office. Will you donate $3 or more if you're ready to fight alongside Senator Warren, Women's March, and women everywhere for policies like a Wealth Tax?
