A male legislator called her “just a mom in tennis shoes.”

Tammy Duckworth

Good afternoon --

Years ago, when a male legislator told my friend Patty Murray that she couldn't make a difference because she was "just a mom in tennis shoes," Patty didn't let that stop her from going on to serve as the first woman -- and first mom -- representing Washington state in the U.S. Senate.

Now, Patty is officially launching her reelection campaign and she needs our help. Because a strong showing in these first few weeks will set the stage for a strong rest of the campaign. So please:

Will you split a donation between Patty Murray and my campaign today? We can’t afford to lose any Democratic voices in the Senate. Pitch in here:

There is so much more work to be done in order to help families get back on their feet after this devastating pandemic. And unfortunately, we know we can’t count on the GOP. Not a single Republican voted for the American Rescue Plan that delivered crucial support to families in this pandemic.

So if we are going to continue taking steps to invest in and support working families, we will need to defend our Senate majority — and that means reelecting Patty Murray.

Thank you in advance for chipping in.
