Don’t miss the climate consultation deadline - 17.30 on 18th May No images? Click here Dear John, Have you made your submission to the Government’s public consultation for individuals on the climate action plan? The consultation closes at 17.30 tomorrow, Tuesday, so you’ve just 24 hours left to act. Short on time? Then take this 2 minute answering option. Go to the consultation here and add your details in the “About You” section. Then answer the first two questions in the “Taking Action on Climate Change” section - about how seriously you take climate change and how much action you want to see. Just answering these two questions adds to the pressure on Government to act! So will you take 2 minutes now to answer these quick, multiple choice questions? John, climate change, and climate action, will affect us all over the next 10 years as we cut our pollution in half. So it’s well worth taking a bit more time to answer more of the consultation if you can. We’ve prepared a handy answering guide - or “cheatsheet” to help guide your answers. We’re pleased that the Government opened this consultation. But we’re concerned that the consultation’s framing is too focused on individual behaviour change - rather than on the systemic changes we need to make zero pollution options affordable and accessible for everyone. That’s why it’s crucial that lots of people answer the consultation questions and address these shortcomings. And addressing them in the consultation is pretty easy! There are open ended questions where you can write about the need for systems change and climate justice - and we have given you tips on how to do this. And there are lots of multiple choice questions where you can answer "Want to, not able" as often as you like, putting the responsibility back on Government to make action easier. You don't have to answer all the questions. So will you use our guide to answer some of the consultation questions now, before it closes at 17.30 tomorrow? Remember, you don’t need to be an expert to answer the consultation questions. The most important thing is that you answer some questions - and voice your support for strong, ambitious, just climate action. You can keep your answers short if you like. And don’t forget, if you’re really stuck for time, you can go direct to the consultation, add your details to the “About You” section and just answer the first two questions in the “Taking Action on Climate Change” section. That should only take 2 minutes! With thanks for all you do!
