Tucker Carlson spent his latest segment on Fox News pushing a dangerous conspiracy theory that “more than any other single American, Tony Fauci is responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic.”
We can't make this up. Carlson is suggesting to millions of Americans that Dr. Fauci used taxpayer dollars to pay China to create the coronavirus, and now he's “punishing the country -- you, us, everyone.”
The COVID-19 pandemic has now cost nearly 600,000 American lives. Families are losing or grieving loved ones every day in this country, but the GOP has nothing better to do than attack an experienced public health expert doing his best to save lives and lead us out of this crisis.
Marjorie Taylor Greene also echoed Carlson's baseless conspiracy theory, tweeting, “We must pass my bill, The Fire Fauci Act. No one elected Dr Fauci. He is the highest paid federal employee. At his direction, shutdowns & masks are ruining our country, for what appears to be a man made virus that Fauci paid for with our money.”
This isn't the first time the GOP has attacked Dr. Fauci, but we know millions of Americans are starting to believe these dangerous conspiracy theories. Today, as we move to protect Dr. Fauci's position, we need to know where engaged Democrats like you stand:
