With gun violence on the rise in Manhattan, I wanted to let you know about the most important thing you can do today to help restore public safety.

This June, East Siders like us will be choosing a new Manhattan District Attorney — our borough’s top prosecutor — and I’m so proud to be endorsing Dan Quart for DA.

Before I tell you more, will you consider chipping in $25 or another amount to support my friend Dan’s work on justice and safety? [[link removed]]

I’ve known Dan since he was an intern in my office decades ago, and I’ve watched him fight for the East Side for years. As a member of the state legislature, he’s helped pass landmark gun control, criminal justice reform, and public safety legislation.

When women came forward with stories of sexual harassment in Albany, Dan was among the first to stand with them and call for hearings on sexual abuse. He hasn’t been afraid to call out abusers — even when they were rich and powerful — and he’s stood up to public corruption from the Trumps and others.

That’s how I know that Dan will always do the right thing and protect our neighborhoods as District Attorney. He has the experience to keep all Manhattanites safe by aggressively prosecuting violent crimes, sex crimes, and hate crimes.

And his dedication and experience have earned him over 30 endorsements in this race, including the support of Assembly Members Rebecca Seawright and Harvey Epstein, NYC’s first public advocate Mark Green, former NYC Comptroller John Liu, and many others.

But in order to win and restore public safety in Manhattan, Dan needs our help. Dan is running in a competitive 8-way primary after the retirement of our incumbent DA, and he has a major deadline coming up on May 17th — that's today! It’s the biggest fundraising filing deadline in the race so far, and he needs to raise another $10,563 before then.

With public safety and a fair legal system on the line, it’s now or never. John, can I count on you to join the fight for justice and chip in $25, $50, or $100 today to help Dan close the gap? We need a leader like Dan in Manhattan: someone who will rise to the challenge, fight for the East Side, and keep all of us safe.

Thanks,

Carolyn B. Maloney
